On day one, we collected American Dream word associations from each student. They were instructed to silently write down the first four words or phrases that came to mind when they thought of the American Dream. These words were then compiled into a "Wordle," or a visual word cloud, and presented to the class on day two. A discussion was led regarding what words the class had chosen as well as which words were the largest, or had been chosen the most, and why. This wordle was again presented on the last day of class to see if any of the words had changed for students or if they had new perceptions from the class on ther overall piece.
