Reflection:

My team teacher and I had students take a self-assessment disguised as a warm-up to have students see what they are confused about and what is it that they do understand. Having students to this for themselves helped them reflect on the content learned and monitor their own learning. Students were then tasked with teaching each other in an activity we called "Teaching Chairs". We made students get into two circles where the outer circle will be moving one over to teach and/or ask if their peer knows the answer to their confusions. Having this format allowed for students to own their learning, practice explaining content we have learned, and helped students learn from each other. Students were told to answer their questions on the bottom portion of their worksheet. While they did not all do so, we did go over each term in a whole group discussion and had students volunteer to answer each concept. We saw this to be a successful form of instruction, because we were then able to see what students would be able to facilitate whole group and small group discussions. Furthermore, it helped make sure that students were able to complete their formative assessment.
