These lesson plans show a jig-saw activity I did with my honors students early in my student teaching experience. I was utterly impressed with their ability to analysis and understand very high level primary sources so far so I was excited to try to really push them with these primary sources from Livy, Polybius, Sallust discussing what they view is important about history in Rome as a nice intro to studying the history of Rome. The students did great with this and convinced me I really didn't have much to teach this group about reading documents and really needed to move onto working on developing higher level thinking skills with them.
