These are the visual representations that students created to portray the main ideas of the social movements they created for their final projects. There was a wide range of causes but some overlaps. As opposed to having students presents, the posters and papers were hung around the classroom and students were given 3 sticky notes each with a sentence stem to comment on each other’s work. After the gallery walk, we went around and had students share about posters that stood out to them or that they had questions about. It was an honor to see what students came up with and have them engage with each other’s ideas in authentic and affirming ways. It also felt very fulfilling to see students apply their knowledge about social movements to their own ideas and passions.
