Guidelines for Final Project

 

The purpose of this Final Project is to:
 
  1. To question and analyze history to critically think (past)
  2. To compare and contrast past with present (present)
  3. To use knowledge of in our lives (future)
 
Our expectations for the Final Project:
 
  1. Every group member will participate in the presentation and the process of the Final Project.
  2. A visible presentation including at least two modes of expression (i.e. PowerPoint, Dance, Poem, Rap, Collage, Monologue, Draw or Paint a Picture, lead a Socratic seminar, etc.)
  3. Every individual group member will write a 2-page reflection (typed and double-spaced) about how they met the purposes of the Final Project.  In addition, this written component should reflect why their group chose the topic, what they learned from the topic, and their experience working in the group.
 
Overview of the process:
 
  1. Team up with fellow students and presentation advisor 
  2. Within the group, a topic and essential question (the big idea) will be agreed upon (i.e. media, propaganda as topics and “What does it mean to be American?” as an essential question)
  3. Submit a proposal by Friday, July 13th
  4. Time in and out of class from July 16th-July 24th 
  5. Last week each group will present 15 minute presentations on Wednesday, July 25th and Thursday, July 26thPresentation
 
Presentations:
 
  1. Students will create an outline of your presentation
  2. Students will complete peer evaluations of fellow student presentations
