In order to make the study of History both meaningful and relevant, we periodically write letters connecting what we are learning to contemporary issues. Students, for example, have written letters to the textbook editors regarding content which they think is lacking and should be included, to the California Governor and Board of Education to ask that they add a standard o Mexican Repatriation during the 1930s, and to the President in order to make connections between the Great Depression and the current financial crises and between FDR's New Deal Policies and those of the current Administration. We are, of course, always thrilled when they write us back!
