As a review strategy and in order to create multiple pathways to accessing the content in students' brains, they complete summative illustrated timelines at the end of the course. Each entry contains a date, description, and picture and then students are asked to find a creative way to group the different events in terms of the overarching themes of the course as they see them: economic developments, social movements, political change, struggles of diverse peoples to overcome various forms of oppression, etc. These projects are then used to study for CST, AP, and SAT II exams and displayed for other classes to come and see the work they have done.
