Reflection

In this course we studied the oirgins and progression of the Mexican Revolution, and examined its continued legacies to the present. We also examined transnational patterns such as the cycle of immigration started by the Bracero Program in the 1930s. In collaboration with another M.A.T. student, I worked to design a unit plan incorporating the course material into a unit to teach at the high school level. We planned backwards from objectives, included sample lesson plans, activities, assignments, and assessments. I am very much looking forward to teaching this material when given the opportunity. Until then, this course has helped me better to understand United States history and I will draw on it especially when teaching 20th century U.S. next year.
