Assignments for the Week of 2/14

 

Monday:

Students began their exploration of the early Greeks. Students began with a active listening strategy where they learned about Minoan Bull Leaping. They then applied the strategies learned in the listening activity to a critical reading activity.

 

Homework:

Read the Minoan handout and annotate the text using the strategies discussed in class.


Tuesday:

Students reviewed their finding from the Minoans reading and shared their annotations strategies. The students then began to work on their Minoan's flip book with their nearby partners.


Homework:

Complete the Minoan section of the flip book. Make sure your cover has an illustration.

Wednesday:

Students continued their exploration of the early Greeks as students moved on to  the Mycenaeans. Students read through their two-page handout on these early Greeks and annotated it as they were taught in previous classes. Students were also given the layout of the grid to complete their notes on this section.

 

Homework:

Students should complete the Mycenaean section of their notes using the grid provided in class. A powerpoint of the grid can be found below. Students should give the cover of their flip book an image like they did for the cover of the Minoan section.

Thursday:

Students reviewed their notes for the Minoans and Mycenaeans to ensure they had the correct information. They discussed their findings and then shared previous work on parody songs about the geography of ancient Greece.

 

Homework:

None.
