Ancient History Classwork and Homework for the Week of:

9/19/2010

 

Monday

Classwork: 

Students reviewed the asnwers to their cave exploration notes, highighting the evidence they found and sharing their conclusions about the meaning of the artifacts found in the cave. The students were then given the rubric for the Cave Art project and had the material explained to them.

Homework:

Students should complete the review sheet for the Chaper 1 quiz.

Tuesday:

Classwork: 

Students completed the test review sheet while in class today. The students worked with their clock buddies to answer the questions in teams and then the class regrouped to review the answers. The review sheet can be found here: Chapter 1 Review Sheet.pdf

 

Homework:

Students should review their notes and study guide in preparation for the test on Thursday. In addition, students need to have their final draft of the Cave Art Project paragraph done for Wednesday's class.

 

Tuesday:

Classwork: 

Students reviewed for the test by going over the answers to the Chapter 1 Review. The students were then given a check list to help prepare their Cave Art project. Students were then given time to work on their Cave Art project.

Homework:

 Students should be studying for their Chapter 1 quiz tomorrow. They are also to be working on their Cave Art project which will be due on Monday. For additonal review check out the Jeopardy game. Note: Geogrpahy will not be on this quiz.

Wednesday:

 

Classwork: 

Students completed their first assessment, their Chapter 1 quiz. After completing their test, students started their HW: Preview 2.pptx or read an article about the controversy at the Lascaux Caves.

 

Homework:

Complete Preview 2.pptx (AH-1,3,6,7) for Friday's class.

 Cave Art Project due on Monday.

 

 

Thursday:

Students reviewed the concepts of timelines. They were taught the difference between decades, centuries and millenniums. They also reviewed the calander era designations of Common and Before the Common Era. Students then looked at a time line of importnat events in human history and used timeline skills to answer questions.

 

HW:

Students should complete Preview 2 for homework. Also, they should bring in their cave art to work on in class if they have not completed it already.

 

Friday:

HW:

Finish the Cave Art project for Monday.
